Product Description

2-naphthol is also called β-naphthol,the molecular formula is C10H8O. It is white glossy flake or white powder, and it is the most important organic chemical raw material and the most important dye intermediate.

Physical & Chemical Property

It is flammable and water insoluble, but dissolving in ethanol, ethyl ether, chloroform, glycerin and alkaline solution. The property is stable in the air, and its color will turn dark if keeping for long time or exposure in the sun. It will sublime with irritant phenol odor by heating. The density is 1.28g/cm3, melting point is 123~124°C, boiling point is 285~286°C and flash point is 161°C.

It is used in dye, rubber and oil paint, and the raw material of rubber antioxidant, bactericide, mold inhibitor, preservative.
