♦ A tea plantation at the foot of Mount Fuji in Shizuoka

where high quality varieties of tea are harvested.

Spring brings fresh, green, beautiful tea leaves (Yabukita).

By covering the tea leaves, new buds grow tender and the tea's flavor

components further develop. This process is called "kabusecha."

Harvested tea leaves are carefully selected locally in Shizuoka prefecture,

then processed into crude tea and sent off to be processed to manufacture

safe and high quality green tea and matcha.

After being sealed in individual packages, the tea is safely stored in

cold storage to preserve its quality.

This tea is sold by OTAKE-EN, a company established in 1701 which supplied

tea utensils and green tea to the town of Isesaki during Japan's Edo period.

Even now, over 300 years after its establishment, OTAKE-EN continues to

receive high praise from customers around the region.
