Fluorspar is an industrial mineral that is composed of calcium fluoride (CaF2).

There are three main types of commercial fluorspar concentrate:

(1)acid grade(acidspar): which is fine grained and contains over 97 percent fluorspar.

(2)ceramic(ceraspar): which is 85 to 97 percent fluorspar;

(3)metallurgical (metspar) : which is over 80 percent fluorspar and is 10 to 80 mm in size;

Application

Used as flux,it can reduce the melting point of difficult-melted substance,accelerate the flow of slags to separate the slag and metal thoroughly.It has the

characteristic of desulfurization, dephophorization,increase metal’s forgeablity and tensile strength.Thus,it is widely used in steel making,nonferrous metal metallurgy,ferroalloy metallurgy,chemical and iron

industry.
