3.[Pharmacology]Pharmacodynamics Tilmicosin is produced semi-synthetically and is in the macrolide class of antibiotics.The antibacterial activity is similar to tylosin, It is active mainly against Gram-positive microorganisms (including penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus,Pneumococcus,Streptococcus,Bacillus anthracis,Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae,Listeria,Clostridium septicum,Clostridium chauvoei,etc.). and some Gram-negative microorganisms (including Haemophilus, Meningococcus, Pasteurella, etc.),as well as Mycoplasmas.

Pharmacokinetics It is absorbed quickly after oral administration or subcutaneous injection with strong penetrability of tissue and large volume of distribution ( >2L/kg). It has high concentrations in lung tissue and milk, the half-life are up to 1-2 days, the effective blood concentration is maintained for a long time. The concentration in milk are higher than the plasma concentration about 50 times at half an hour after once subcutaneous injection, its half-life are 33.8 hours.

4.[Drug Interactions ] (1) Combination with epinephrine can led to pig 's death. (2Should not be used simultaneously with other macrolides and lincosamide due to the same action targets they have. (3)Combination with β -lactams have antagonistic effect.

[Indication]Indicated for the treatment of infections in the bovine,caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae,Pasteurella and Mycoplasma,such as bovine pleuropneumonia, hemorrhagic septicemia, mycoplasma pneumonia.

5.[Usage and Dosage]

For subcutaneous injection:

Administer a single subcutaneous dose of 10 mg per 1 kg b. W.

6.[Side Effects](1) Toxic effects of this product is mainly on animals cardiovascular system, it can cause tachycardia and contractility. Subcutaneous injection of 50mg/kg for cattle can cause cardiac toxicity and 150mg/kg is is lethal. (2)Intramuscular injection can cause severe pain,the thrombophlebitis and phlebitis can be caused after intravenous injection,around the breast after dosing can cause inflammation.Administration in the breast can cause inflammation.

7.[Precaution]( 1 ) Contraindicated to be injected intravenously.It also have lethal danger for pigs, primates and horses.
( 2 ) Both intramuscular and subcutaneous injection may cause local reactions, avoid contact with eyes.
( 3 ) Should be closely monitored for cardiovascular status after use this product.
( 4 ) Do not use in cows producing milk and beef cattlefor human consumption.
